CTG

CTG is an examination or cardiotocography, a diagnostic method that monitors uterine contractions and fetal heart sounds. The aim of this examination is to check whether the heartbeat is regular, but also whether or not there are contractions of the uterus. By recording the heartbeat in time and the tone of the uterus, the current state of both mother and baby is checked.

The examination itself lasts between 20 and 60 minutes, where the pregnant woman lies calmly but relaxed on one side of her body or on her back, while two belts are tied around her stomach. One belt monitors and measures the baby's pulse while the other measures uterine contractions.

The right time for CTG is the ninth month of pregnancy.
